Impact on engagement with cognitive training

In-person psychological therapy is recommended for serious mental health problems, including Psychosis-spectrum disorders and mood disorders. Disengagement or non-adherence to therapy can result in worse social, occupational and clinical recovery.

Recently, online, digital technologies to improve intervention adherence have been explored. However, some people with severe mental health problems are suspicious of digital interventions and other internet-based technologies, where these systems are not considered trustworthy, further compounding the adherence problem.

This project aims to investigate the barriers and facilitators to engaging with autonomous digital systems and online cognitive training, using a mixed methods study, co-produced with public involvement partners.
