This project investigates the control of aerial drones as these are employed on construction sites for monitoring or transportation tasks.

In particular, the aim of the study is to design control policies that allow drones to safely move through construction sites without performing undesirable behaviours violating safety, privacy, or other concerns.

This multidisciplinary project will identify safety and desirability constraints on construction sites through discussions with stakeholders and socioeconomic considerations as well as develop machine learning methods which account for the identified constraints based on realistic models of aerodynamics. The resulting machine learning methods will be demonstrated in realistic aeronautic simulations and reduced-scale flight tests with physical drones.
