Celebrating the achievements of the £33M UKRI Trustworthy Autonomous Systems Programme

When submitting your project video/poster/exhibition demo, please make sure you adhere to the following criteria to avoid wasted effort:

 

1. Relevance

Your content needs to be relevant to research into trustworthy autonomous systems. We particularly welcome interdisciplinary work and work done with end-users, industry, and policymakers.

 

2. Presentation quality

Your work needs to adhere to the production guidance (poster template, video production guidelines) and needs to be presented professionally.

Please bear in mind that the material you present will appear on someone’s screen (as it’s a hybrid event) and therefore needs to be clearly readable and easy on the eye.

 

3. Content quality

Please make sure you clearly describe the research challenges you’ve addressed and the outcomes and outputs achieved. Also, make sure to fill in the associated form with relevant data so we’re aware of your intent to submit.
We will review all content submitted and, in case they do not fit the above criteria, we reserve the right to invite a resubmission.

Video recording guidance

Your video should be around 5 minutes in length and focus heavily on the outcome and outputs of your TAS research. We encourage footage and images of the works done to be included, though this is not a prerequisite.

If recording on your phone:

• Record in landscape and select a minimum 1080p HD at 25 frames per second (fps) or any of the higher resolutions available up to 4K.
• If your device has the option, please film in a ‘Constant Frame Rate’
• The camera on the back of your phone is typically higher quality than the front-facing camera

 

Before you hit record:

• Is the room well lit so your face will be seen clearly?
• Is your backdrop fairly simple and light? Highly patterned curtains can be a distraction and cause uneven lighting, for example.
• Record a quick test clip to check your audio is clear. Sound cannot be improved at the editing stage.
• Is your camera in landscape mode?
• Is your shot stable? A laptop on your lap will likely wobble and make the video difficult to watch
• Check your camera settings are at the specifications mentioned earlier

Research poster guidance

Content

Your poster should focus on the following:

• Your TAS-related research outcomes and outputs
• The multidisciplinary elements of your work
• Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI)
• Industry partner involvement

 

Format

• Please use this poster template
• Refer to this PDF file for a mock-up of how to use the space
• Please use this font pack to retain the Hub’s branding
• We recommend that posters are printed to size A1 and no smaller than A2.

You do not need to retain the exact format of the body of the template as it is in the PDF mock-up or on the template, however, the following elements must remain in the template:

• • UKRI TAS Hub logo
  • UKRI EPSRC logo
  • Title box (top-left)
  • Partner logos section must remain at the bottom
  • Heading boxes (with shaded background) to be used for all sections.
  • It should include your institution’s and industry partner logos in the space provided
