Current position: Postdoctoral Research Fellow (and incoming Assistant Professor) in the Agents, Interaction and Complexity research group, Electronics and Computer Science, University of Southampton, and a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Twente (The Netherlands).
My main interest is in the theories and the application of multiagent systems and distributed Artificial Intelligence (AI). This includes developing formal methods for reasoning about responsibility and ensuring the ethical behaviour of AI-based systems. On a more practical side, I work on the application of AI techniques in smart mobility, on decision support tools for the circular economy, and on tools for sustaining urban resilience and adapting to the consequences of climate change. I like getting engaged with interdisciplinary topics and working towards tackling real-life challenges using computational methods. Being a part of the TAS hub allows focusing on relevant practical challenges but at the same time provides room for studying fundamental problems around the safety, ethicality, and trustworthiness of autonomous systems which requires interdisciplinary research and innovation.
ARGOS: AI-assisted Resilience GOvernance Systems – Pump Priming Project
Investigating the applicability of machine learning methods to support anticipatory planning for resilience, simulation-based AI techniques for policy appraisal in view of compound risks, and AI-based coordination mechanisms for resilience-aware decision making.
AAMAS21: Before ARGOS, I was a postdoctoral research fellow for TAS. During that period, my main focus was on “Responsibility Reasoning methods in/for TAS”. On this topic, our BlueSky paper at the International Conference on Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems was recognized with a Special Mention.
