The TAS Leap of Faith project focuses on public trust and compliance in emergency situations. We’re asking First Responders and Emergency Service personnel to participate in a survey. The team need to hear your views on messaging methods that foster immediate trust and compliance during emergency scenarios in your line of work. The survey takes 10 minutes to fill out, and it will contribute to identifying cross-cutting patterns in terms of:

  • The key characteristics of the messages they use to deliver vital clear information to people at risk
  • The strategies they use to establish trust quickly with people they do not know and need to comply with their instructions whilst in stressful and dangerous conditions.

The project team intend to use the results of the survey to produce guidance on effective communication that builds trust and compliance in emergency situations.

Responses are welcomed from any member of the emergency services (active and retired) operating at all levels in the emergency response chain of command. Also, from anyone who has experience in any emergency-related operations that require evacuation/rescuing of members of the public from potentially life-threatening situations.
